Our Methods

At MAKE Associates we have created a number of unique methods to solve some of the biggest questions around planning and measuring the 24 hour city, researching the licensed and entertainment sectors, calibrating the cost and benefits of the evening and night-time economy and delivering the nuts and bolts that underpin any great after dark policy or strategy.

Sometimes our methods bring existing techniques together in novel ways. Other times we have adapted existing techniques from other fields to fit the unique qualities of the night. On occasion we have created an entirely new approach as there was no precedent for what we wanted to do. Below are four specific methods that we have developed and which are at the heart of some of our most important projects.

MAKE night Model

Every town and city needs a cohesive strategy for the evening and night-time economy. The MAKE Night Model is a proven process that delivers that strategy.

The evening and night-time economy is one of your town’s greatest assets, but what shape is it in? And, crucially, how are your competitors doing?

If you can’t measure, you can’t manage; a cliché, but true. The MAKE Night-time Cost Benefit Analysis Framework is the baseline for quantifying every town and city at night.

Every licensing policy needs to be legally complaint, locally responsive and based on robust data. Crucially, it needs to set out a vision for how licensing will help shape your borough for the better.
