Having completed a global first (the Cost Benefit Analysis of a world city night-time economy) on behalf of the Mayor and City of Sydney Council, we are pleased to see that our work continues to be put to good use.

As part of the city’s world leading approach to regenerating its night-time economy (London and New York have has since learned much), Sydney has now gone to the next level and set out repairing the damage caused by the lockout laws - laying out a comprehensive ENTE plan.

As MAKE we have long argued that, unless you have top level political support (in this case the Lord Mayor of Sydney) for the evening and night-time economy (and politicians who see it as a crucial part of the community, destination brand and cultural life), then your NTE is doomed to be seen as a ‘problem’. Yet it is, in fact, it is part of the solution to the challenge of creating competitive and civilised 21st century towns and cities.
